The challenge was to convert the website for Chile-based JOIA Magazine from its old blog-like layout that was already 5 years outdated, to a much more open, flexible, responsive and efficient platform to deliver its broad range of contents from both its printed magazine and the bloggers' take on current events.
A flexible Home Page layout was developed to integrate advertising options as well as inner sections of the site, keeping focus above the fold to then give room for the blogger-fed contents. Plus several inner gallery layouts and custom fields were developed to allow staff members freedom to post contents from various platforms and mediums.
The printed magazine –given its quarterly releases– demanded an agile and cohesive way to preview contents for each issue, while maintaining the respect for each featured artists' contact information and descriptions.
To do that, fullscreen modules were built featuring each collaborator, along with options to purchase each issue or subscribe to the magazine.
