It’s been a while ago since I told you about 60 Unite for Children, a project by I told you about 60 Unite for Children, a project by UNICEF where 60 designers and artists from around the world showcase graphics and thoughts related to children.


After a lot a lot of thinking, and when I realized that now shipping costs are free, I decided to buy it.


And yesterday, after a week, the book got to my hands


A kickass purchase. The 180 pages book contains a huge amount of top notch works plus some beautiful thoughts.

Things I Have Learned In My Life So Far is the latest book by the master Stefan Sagmeister, one of the grand designers of modern day design.
 
A while ago I read that the book’s packaging was laser cut to reveal different swapable patterns through Sagmeister’s face; but this video really explains how it works.
 
Awesome. The one I like the most is the T.
 
Plus the book is really cheap!. US$24 at Amazon.

Para celebrar su número 150, la revista Grafik lanzó un pequeño libro de 150 páginas que, por lo que yo tenía entendido, mostraba diseños de 150 personajes influyentes del mundo del diseño gráfico actual.
 
Con esto en mente, encargué el mío por 14.7 libras esterlinas, unos 15,500 pesos chilenos.
Hoy, después de 20 días de viajar por el Atlántico, el pequeñín de 150 páginas llegó a mis manos con sus letras doradas y portada naranja (varían al azar según comprador); y, para mi sorpresa, el libro no exhibe trabajos de 150 diseñadores!; sino que objetos, imágenes, personajes que inspiran o inspiraron a estos 150 seres a entrar al mundo del diseño gráfico.
 
Mucho mejor!.
 
¿Qué mejor que conocer el switch que le prendió la lucesita del diseño a estos grandes?.
Es realmente interesante la cantidad de cosas que aparecen en el libro. Desde personajes de Plaza Sésamo, a portadas de un disco de música antiguo, pasando por cajas de miniaturas de Transformers y pulseras árabes compradas en la calle. Todo esto principalmente de la infancia de cada diseñador, dándole un completo valor agregado al asunto. Además, cada objeto es explicado en las palabras de los mismos diseñadores, por lo que cada uno logra transmitir lo que esa pieza les provoca o provocó en su momento.
 
Definitivamente una buena adquisición. Si pueden encarguen el suyo, porque son ediciones limitadas.
